  Name My name is Mykal Walker I'm a recording artist from the north side of Minneapolis Minnesota

  How did you get into the field that you are in today? It feels like I was into music all my life. growing up with my mother and grandmother they kept all diffrent types of music in rotation around me, but it wasn't until I turned 16 that I started seriously writing poetry and that eventually turned into me writing music and attempting to record it a couple years later once I built the confidence up to try.

  What do you love most about youre profession? What I like most about making music is connecting with people, I see music as a universal language that everyone understands in some way and it also forces me to look deeper within when I write a song, so every track I learn more about myself

  Tell us more about what you do? I'm a all around artist because of the environment that I was raised in so I really do everything that adds to my vision and I'm big on things being cohesive and coming together to make a big picture that makes sense.I'm a content creator a video director and I'm currently working on my own merch with designs that I created.

  When did you discover that you had a passion for this field? I was passionate about music before I started making it, different sounds were always around me growing up and I studied them because music itself always resonated with me no matter what style it was and all that studying just made me more of a perfectionist once I started creating my own music

  Who in your field do you look up... The people I studied are the people I look up to in my field lil Wayne always had me locked in on his lyrics and delivery, drake taught me how important it is to structure a song the right way, listening to odd Future growing up taught me it was more effective to think outside the box, and people like biggie Andre 3k wutang clan and snoop Dogg taught me it's important to know your roots and use that knowledge. all these people had amazing style and charisma that I wanted to be able to stand up against with my own style and presence one day
