Sep 13, 2024
Name Mafia Life Tommi
What is your profession? I do music, drive flatbed semis, carpentry, welding, car mechanic, and an author, I also just began doing tattoos.
What do you love most about your profession? What I love about my profession is that I’m my own boss. I honestly picked up a lot of my trades when I was incarcerated and when I EOS I went to school to get my CDL although I was told no one would hire a felon. So it was tough at first but I’m not a quitter and no to me means next opportunity. Which is why I keep adding more trades and work skills under my belt.
Tell us more about what you do? As far as flatbed truck driving I’ve been doing that for 2 years but I’ve been driving semis since 2016 I’m usually otr most of the time and I travel pretty much everywhere. When it comes to carpentry I’m really good at building fences boat docks and things of that sort. Ngl I don’t to much like welding but I’m good at it and I felt it was a great trade to have aswell. I’m a self taught mechanic (YouTube) but I’m good at what I do aswell. When it comes to being a author I’m In the process of getting my book published atm. I wrote a urban novel calling behind the trigger my partner Raydubb and I wrote the book in prison. When I first started I did maybe 3 chapters and developed writers block and I got in some trouble and shipped to another facility where I met him and he read those chapters and wanted to write aswell so I decided that the both of us would write for different characters.
When did you discover that you had a passion for this field? I first discovered I had a passion for music when I was maybe 14 but before that I was into poetry heavily and I used to always follow my granddad to the gospel concerts and things of that sort he played guitar and I used to be up there aswell with a little guitar aswell as if I knew what I was doing so music has always been a part of me I feel like my voice is my greatest instrument and it is a way to escape and express myself.
Who in your field do you look up... I look up to rappers like Nas Kevin gates master p 50 cent and Soulja boy. Not saying those are my favorite rappers or who I listen to on a regular basis but I more so look up to them bc they stand on what they believe in and although they came from the bottom they made a way out for themselves and their loved ones so it’s more so a respect for their hustle and their morals as a man.
